6600 GT, 5900 PCX and X700 XT stay toe-to-toe in this OpenGL test. We're CPU limited initially and the 6600 GT has a serious driver problem at 1600x1200 with IQ features enabled, but its performance wouldn't be too hard to imagine, were it correct.

Serious Sam: SE

Serious Sam SE

We've seen odd Serious Sam: SE performance on ATI hardware before, with the X800 PRO acting like a 9800 XT, almost identically. That's mostly down to memory access issues in the GPU's memory controller, so we'll attribute the X700 XT's performance to the same thing, in the absence of any time to do extra testing. Serious Sam: SE is texture heavy (access, blending), so there's maybe a case for optimisation in the memory controller for its access patterns in this application. Either way, Serious Sam's performance is sub-par, for its ability, on X700 XT.
