In 3DMark 2001 SE, X700 XT is king of the mid-range, comfortably outpacing 6600 GT and closing up on 6800 GT at the initial, slightly CPU-limited setting. It's ahead again in the median and upper settings, although some 30% off the 6800 GT's pace at the upper setting. Given its clock speed deficit, ATI's hardware remains strong in this texture-heavy, shader-light, DX8-class performance test.

In the DX9.0 level, largely shader-bound test, 6600 GT and X700 XT can't be separated. Incorporating graphics techniques that have subsequently shown to be implemented almost entirely in recent games, 3DMark03 remains a very good overall performance metric for DX9-class cards that place emphasis on their shader power.

6800 GT stays well ahead, 5900 PCX stays well behind.
