3DMark03

Vendor: Futuremark - (Website)
API: DirectX 9.0
Pixel Shader Version Supported: Mix PS1.1, PS1.4, PS2.0

3DMark03

With NV36, memory bandwidth accounts for a fair chunk of 3DMark03 performance when it's not up in the 900MHz range, where the Ultra plays. As you can see, the P Turbo has no trouble besting the Ultra/980 due to its increased memory bandwidth, with the Radeon 9600 bringing up the rear. Whether the initial trends will continue throughout the rest of the benchmarks will be interesting

Call of Duty

Vendor: Activision - (Website)
API: OpenGL
Pixel Shader Version Supported: PS1.1 class

Call of Duty

With Call of Duty it's not so much memory bandwidth that has an influence, rather it's memory size that influences performance. While the P Turbo can outrun the Ultra/980 due to more memory clock, at the 1600x1200 upper setting the 980's bigger memory size allows it to overtake the P Turbo, as the memory size becomes a bottleneck.

Being an OpenGL test, the Radeon 9600 isn't in the best of shape compared to the higher clocked FX 5700 boards.
