The X800 PRO ends up nearly twice as fast as the 9800 XT at the upper setting, the 6800 Ultra losing a fair chunk of performance at the same point. At the median setting, the X800 PRO sits well below the 6800 Ultra, but maybe not enough over the 9800 XT to be useful.

Vendor: People Can Fly - (Website)API: DX9.0
Pixel Shader Version Supported: Mix, unknown versions

We're CPU limited initially with the new generation of GPUs. The 6800 pulls ahead after that, with the X800 PRO settling into its now familiar position in between the 6800 Ultra and the 9800 XT. You'd be forgiven for thinking the 9800 XT had excellent performance in isolation, which it does, but the new generation series' on the graph tell you that much much more is available now.
