The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot has received critical acclaim and, with the aid of Crystal Dynamics' game engine, helps bring Lara Croft to life with stunning character models and believable worlds. We run a 60-second benchmark using the Ultra-quality preset.

Not all games sing to the same tune, as GTX 780 Ti still rules the roost when it comes to playing Tomb Raider at a 4K resolution. The overclocked GTX 970 puts in another solid showing - the game is playable, though you'll need to lower quality settings a further notch or two to reach the desired 60 frames per second.

Thinking of going from GTX 770 to GTX 970? You'll notice the difference.

Aided by a hefty factory overclock, the GTX 970 FTW comes close to matching GTX 980 when evaluating slow frames.
