Splinter Cell and overclocking

Splinter Cell

  • Author: UbiSoft
  • DirectX Class 8.1
  • Pixel and Vertex Shaders: Yes (PS1.1)
  • No FSAA. AF set via control panel
  • Beyond3D Caspian Demo

Splinter Cell shows just what kind of performance problems modern games can produce for midrange accelerators.

Overclocking

RV360s have shown an aptitude to go past the rated 500MHz GPU clock speeds. The PowerColor was no exception. We managed a rock-steady 571MHz core and 730MHz memory speeds. That's in a closed case and 22c ambient temperature.

AquaMark3 shows a healthy enough performance gain, just as we would expect.

The taxing UT2003 test breaks the 60FPS average framerate barrier. This kind of performance puts the GeForce FX 5700 Ultra in a poor light.
