Benchmarks - Crysis 3

Homepage: Crysis.com/us/crysis-3 | Publisher: Electronic Arts | Developer: Crytek

Crysis 3 is a beautiful-looking game that continues to tax high-end systems. We've FRAPS'd a 30-second section near the start of the game, with lashing rain, numerous reflections and full DX11 pomp on show.

Crysis 3 also shows no major improvement when switching out heatsinks. Though the GPU is running cooler with WindForce, GPU Boost calculates that core frequency has already topped-out. You'd need the might of the Radeon R9 295X2 to run at over 30fps.

And with average frame rates hovering at 22fps or so, very few frames are rendered in under 33ms when using either cooler on the Gigabyte Titan Black.

The stats show that WindForce provides a slightly better gaming experience than the reference. Better is relative, of course, as 22fps feels sticky.
