Power, Temps and Noise
The Asus cooler may be overt and the presence of a six-pin PCIe connector intimates overclocking potential, but there's no denying the energy-efficient nature of the Maxwell GPU. Our reading, taken at the plug, takes the whole system into account: we're looking at laptop-like figures here.
Big cooler? Yup. Low-power GPU? Yup. That's a nice recipe for low temperatures.
Our noise test also takes the complete system into account. Running Far Cry 3 also taxes the CPU and increases fan-speed noise. That said, the Asus card is the quietest of our bunch. Perusing logs shows that the fans spin at 56 per cent of maximum.
