Review: ATI Radeon 9600XT (/w NV36)

2 graphs this time, one for overall score and one to graph the PixelShader 2.0 performance. We're looking for the same things as before. Competive and good mid range performance.



The gap closes up here since 9600XT has better DX9 performance and a higher engine clock, but the other cards memory bandwidth advantage allows shortcomings in PS performance to be smoothed over so to speak. Here's the PS2.0 graph.



Notes

No apparent IQ issues, bar slightly visible texture boundaries in some parts of the Nature test for the NV36, especially when the scene switches to the view of stones by the river, you can see mip stage levels clearly on the stones in the distance. Trilinear issues again I believe. No issues on 9600XT. Otherwise excellent on both cards, especially when anisotropic filtering is used.
