Serious Sam: TSE

Serious Sam 2 time. It's our resident Sierra De Chiapas timedemo with the extreme quality add-on applied. This should ensure that all cards are playing on a level field.

The surprising and confusing factor here is the small performance lead over the regular 9700 PRO. 153FPS is still more than fast enough.

Ouch. This texture-heavy demo, once raised another few notches with 4x AA and 8x AF, shows that it's still to be reckoned with. The Tyan's 66FPS is an average frame-rate and the demo often appeared to dip into the mid-20s during hectic action.

A first-person shooter needs fluid frame-rates, Some say that nothing below 50FPS is acceptable. We, on the other hand, reckon that you could just get away with 30FPS. Massive texture and edge aliasing take their toll on all cards; we wouldn't say that even the FX 5900 Ultra's benchmark was as smooth as one would like.
