Comanche 4

Things should be closer in Comanche 4, a shader heavy test run on identically clocked GPU's. It should give us an idea of how the driver keeps the shader hardware busy.

The graph is misleading, emphasing the ATI victory more than it maybe should. However a win is a win, the NVIDIA card is slower doing the shader dominant test.

As IQ gets enabled, the NVIDIA advantage in memory bandwidth should claw some performance back, but the ATI stays ahead. There's not much in it, but it's a difference none the less.

There we go, only when pushed beyond the general settings the cards are capable of, does the advantage make itself known. I'd hazard a guess that NVIDIA isn't really doing much on Comanche 4 with the driver, in terms of optimising just for that benchmark.

Pretty much equal when IQ makes an appearance initially, with the NVIDIA only going quicker when things really get turned up. A win for the ATI in Comanche 4.
