Overclocking

We haven't seen a great deal of additional frequency headroom on factory overclocked GeForce GTX 770s and Gigabyte's WindForce 3X is no exception. We managed to add just an extra 63MHz to the core, but going any higher introduced system instability. There's plenty of room to manoeuvre on memory, though, with the card's 2GB frame buffer happily running at an effective 7,800MHz. Makes you wonder why Gigabyte opted not to overclock the memory by default.

It's a fun overclock to do, though, as it's always nice to see a sub-£350 card overtake the £500 GeForce GTX 780.
