Overclocking
Overclocking was achieved by raising frequencies at stock voltage. Our sample managed a reasonable 1,202MHz core and 7,512MHz memory. GPU Boost further added another 60MHz or so to the core figure.
Far Cry 3 is very, very partial to increases in frequency on a GeForce GTX card. The end result is GeForce GTX 780-like performance for considerably less money, albeit with the GTX 770 pushed to the limit.
For those interested, the overclocked card scored 3,731 marks in the 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme test, which is still some way behind the 4,200-plus of the GTX 780. Horses for courses and GPUs for games.
