Gaming Performance

Far Cry

Far Cry

The eVGA 7900 GT achieves the same performance at 1920x1200 that the reference hardware does at 1600x1200, effectively getting you an extra resolution for your money. Neither overclocked 7900 GTX gets past the reference Radeon X1900 XTX in Far Cry, though, with the XFX beating the eVGA by virtue of its higher clocks.

Quake 4

Quake 4

Quake 4 seems the same performance trend for eVGA's Superclocked GT. The overclocked board beats the standard one by a new resolution at the old performance. As far as the GTXs go, both are quicker than ATI's hardware in Raven's Doom 3-engined shooter as expected, the XFX fastest by a touch. That means we're vindicating performances seen in article 4872.

The XFX GTX catches the ATI hardware at 1600x1200, finding itself slightly outrun at 1920x1200. The XFX beats the eVGA by a bushy whisker and again we see eVGA's GT stomping all over the reference version.

The eVGA GT is the standout performer in our tests for this article, outgunning the reference hardware by virtue of large clock increases.
