Serious Sam 2
Serious Sam 2 next. Benchmarked using the publicly available demo with the Sierra De Chiapas Timedemo. Run at the various resolutions at normal settings to negate the effects that in-built anisotropic filtering has when the quality setting is applied.
All our protagonists are extremely close here. I'm hazarding that the benchmark is almost wholly subsystem limited at 1024x768x32. That's kind of hard to take when you have an XP2700 / nForce2 combination as the engine. On to 1280x1024x32.
The fillrate of the cards now begins to dictates performance. It's of little surprise, therefore, that the Radeons take a decisive lead. Still,Ā ~125fps is pretty damn good from our test MSI Ti 4800-SE card. 1600x1200x32 should really start to hurt the cards.
Not much hurt going on as far as the Radeon 9700s are concerned. To its credit the Ti 4800-SE still manages to put up a decent showing here.
Unreal Tournament's in-built flybys next.
