Futuremark 3DMark Intel Platform

Now that we've seen all the cards individually, let's now see how they perform as we subject them to our usual barrage of benchmark. I'll be benchmarking at 1024x768, 1280x1024 (or 1280x960 for UT2K3), and 1600x1200. This should give us a clear idea of how each card performs under the resolutions that most of us play at. As has been mentioned earlier, all cards are benchmarked under two top-end systems based on the Intel 2.8GHz and AMD's XP2700 CPUs respectively. I'll leave the commentary until all graphs have been displayed on a particular benchmark.

First, as usual, it's 3DMark 2001SE build 330. This build recognises the presence of 8x AGP cards. We'll begin with the Intel setup.

What's extremely clear from the outset is that the ABIT OTES, Albatron Turbo, and Gainward 750 take the top three positions at each resolution. The ABIT is clocked at default Ti 4400 speeds of 275/553, that explains its lead. The Albatron Turbo runs its memory a little faster than the trailing bunch with a 553MHz default clock. The surprise, though, is the Gainward 750.

If we go by Rivatuner's identification it runs the core and memory at the same speed as the other 128MB cards. It does eek out a lead in this benchmark every time. It's difficult to proffer why. My guess is that BGA RAM has something to do with it.

Other than that, it seems as if each Ti 4200 is indifferent. The Creative seems to lag behind each time - this may have more to do with the fact that it's only boasts 4x AGP specification than its 64MB of RAM. 7000+ marks at 1600x1200x32 shows the competence of the cards and drivers. I must add that there was not a single hitch in all this testing.
