Benchmark: Power, Temperature and Noise
A typical downside to a factory-overclocked card is an increase in power consumption. With the boost in operating frequency, it's no surprise to find that the PowerColor card is 12 per cent hungrier than reference.
Having the dual-fan Vortex II cooler is clearly an advantage; the PowerColor card runs 11 per cent cooler than reference under load.
In addition to the excellent cooling performance, the Vortex II also runs nice and quiet. It is barely audible when idle and though it can be heard when the fans ramp up, it remains the quietest card on show.
