Far Cry
The strange-looking graph shows just how system-limited Far Cry is when run on high-end cards. There's literally no performance drop-off from 1024x768 to 1600x1200.
Things change with 4x AA and 16x AF. Here, both Radeon X1800 XL 256MB cards from ASUS and HIS have the beating of a stock-clocked GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB, and the 1600x1200 resolution is generally playable. Note just how much faster the £80 more-expensive ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB card is, though? If you can stretch to it, you'll be rewarded with around a 30% performance increase in GPU-limited games/settings.
