Far Cry

Our Far Cry test is a pre-recorded demo, played back using Far Cry's in-built benchmarking ability to record performance. The level is Pier and the scene is mostly stealthy progress through dense foiliage.

Far Cry

Heh, the ATI hardware cuts through this test with ease while a bug present in NVIDIA's drivers for a few revisions stops the 7800 boards from doing as well. Although, even without the driver bug, the ATI hardware would still be on top by some distance; Radeon X1800 XT is the performance hardware of choice for Far Cry.

The entire game is pretty much playable at 1920x1200 with 4xAA and 8xAF on the X1800 XT, the GTX boards enjoying 1600x1200 a lot more at those settings.
