XFX GeForce 7800 GT presentation and packaging

XFX only makes a passing reference on the faster core and memory speeds of its GeForce 7800 GT package. Perusing through XFX's catalogue shows this to be the only GeForce 7800 GT model, an overclocked out-of-the-box affair, presented in the now-familiar XFX packaging.

The back of the box lists the bundle and has a see-through section in which, had it not been removed, you would have seen the middle section of the card.

The associated bundling is typical XFX and is virtually identical to the one provided with its GeForce 7800 GTX cards. Far Cry's a decent enough title but X²: The Threat is a bit long in the tooth. Certainly not a title that will really push the shading power of the card. The other title, Moto GP 2, falls under the same umbrella. For a limited time only, XFX is offering the upcoming Call of Duty 2 as an incentive for purchasing this card bundle. The game's released on the 15th November 2005 and the 'free' CoD 2 is advertised on a first come, first served basis. Coming back to the bundle above, there's a couple of manuals included, and the English-only version does a reasonable job of illustrating hardware and software installation.

The driver CD contained 4 demos, ForceWare 77.77 drivers, a modified Coolbits overclocking tool, and an XFX-branded version of Tenomichi's 3D Edit Silver v3, a handy video-capturing and editing software that incorporates a real-time shading program which can add 'special effects' to your captured video from the Philips SAA7115HL ASIC.

Hardware-wise, there's a couple of DVI dongles, a couple of S-Video cables, and an S-Video adapter that provides both S-Video-in and component outputs. There's also a necessary molex-to-PCIe 6-pin power adapter, too. Much like SAPPHIRE, XFX offers a 2-year warranty on its cards, which is now the standard from most respected manufacturers.
