The standalone Aliens vs. Predator benchmark uses DX11 features such as hardware tessellation and advanced shadow sampling to draw and animate everyone's favourite xenomorph.
Here's a nice graph for AMD's partners, it shows the pre-overclocked variants of AMD's third-best card beating what's still NVIDIA's top-of-the-range single-GPU solution.
The performance on offer from the overclocked 7870s is strong, but if you're playing at 1080p, you're unlikely to feel the benefits over a stock-clocked card.
