Do the impressively-low temperatures mean lots of noise? Not entirely. When idle, Gigabyte's HD 7970 OC is the quietest card on show - it's hardly audible over our chassis' pre-installed fans - but noise levels do creep up when under load.
As the fans speed up, the card becomes clearly audible and is only fractionally quieter than reference.
