Power consumption
NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti reference numbers are not included because we've downclocked a partner card for results in the preceding graphs. These cards are overclocked and thus may not necessarily show the bone-stock 550 Ti's power-draw credentials in an accurate light.
The graphs do tell us that the HD 6790 consumes around 10 per cent more power than a significantly faster HD 6850. Power-draw analysis lends weight to the thinking that the HD 6790 uses high-leakage GPUs that need a little extra persuasion to run at the prescribed speeds.
