NVIDIA tells us that the GTX 550 Ti core is easily capable of hitting 1GHz, and what we've seen so far certainly corroborates that statement.

Sticking to default voltage, we were able to crank the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 550 Ti OC's core up to a stable 1,050MHz and we hit an astonishing 5,000MHz with the memory.

With the card running at 1,050MHz/5,000MHz, GTX 550 Ti is able to lock horns with GTX 460 768MB in both Aliens vs. Predator and Just Cause 2.
