Overclocking GTX 570

You know how we said the 732MHz core and 3,800MHz memory frequencies were rather tasty for default clocks? The reference card goes somewhat higher.

Racing past the 772MHz/4,008MHz clocks of the GTX 580, the sample runs all the way up to 840MHz core and 4,250MHz memory without any difficulty. More impressive is the fact that it can be achieved with an in-game fan-speed of <60 per cent.

We re-ran Just Cause 2 and Aliens vs. Predator at the elevated clocks and the taxing 2,560x1,600 resolution.

Higher frequencies don't quite make up the architecture-related shortfall when compared to the GTX 580. But we imagine NVIDIA's AICs will be licking their chops in anticipation of releasing higher-clocked GTX 570 models.
