Far Cry 2
Far Cry 2 still represents a good test of a system's credentials. Scaling well with more-powerful GPUs, running Far Cry 2 at a smooth 60fps at the high-quality settings is no mean feat at 2,560x1,600.
Benchmarks
Far Cry 2 paints a similar picture. Sapphire's custom HD 5970 is some 16 per cent quicker than a reference card at 2,560x1,600. Trouble is, the added frame buffer and pre-overclocked GPUs aren't enough to challenge the cheaper 5870 CrossFire configuration.
The premium option - dual GeForce GTX 480s - remains in the lead.
