Knowing that both GeForce GTX 295s are clocked in at the same speed, the newer driver, v182.06, gives a touch extra performance at every resolution, and the 295s just about outmuscle the pre-overclocked Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 X2 ATOMIC as the resolution increases.

Bear in mind that a £180 Radeon HD 4870 1GB produces smooth frame-rates at 1,920x1,200, however.
