Benchmark Settings
First off I benchmarked Quake 3 Arena, run in fastest, normal, high quality and Extra high quality. Extra high quality is the high quality setting with all the detail sliders set to the maximum. Using the 6.31 Nvidia Detonator drivers, and vsync set to "Off By Default" I ran the OpenGL benchmarks, I had antialiasing turned off for all the benchmarks, maybe a more in depth look at FSAA (Full Screen Anti Aliasiang) performance will be up in another review soon (O:.
D3D Benchmarks
For the D3D benchmarks, I used DirectX7. In the Nvidia control panel Mipmap level was set to "Best Performance" Vsync was set to "Always off" and render "no more than 3 frames ahead"
I ran the all game benchmarks and 3d mark 2000 in the usual resolutions to see how they perform. 1600*1200 is the maximum resolution my monitor supports so I didn't go any higher, and anything below 640*480 looks pretty awful so I didn't go lower than that.
I've grouped the benchmarks together, Open GL Quake 3 benchmarks then the D3D benchmarks.
You might be thinking what about 2D performance, well since games are 3D I haven't done any 2D benchmarks, but it is sufficient to say that the Geforce2 will do any 2D tasks that your throw at it (O:
