DOOM 3 has historically run better on NVIDIA's hardware. That's why a GeForce 6600 GT 128MB card is actually faster than both X800 GT/GTO when compared via the game's default high-quality setting. 1280x1024, the crucial resolution, is smooth and playable.



Adding in 4x AA to the inbuilt 8x AF reduces the playability resolution down to 1024x768, though.
