Overclocking
Our overclocking experience on RTX 3080 cards has been limited, and the Palit GamingPro OC is the most constrained yet. Adding just another 50MHz to the core was enough to trip it over, though we were able to ramp memory up to 20Gbps. The overclocking experience on today's many-core CPUs has been diminished, and we're starting to get the impression GPUs will follow suit.
The Palit card is quite clearly hitting its power limit, so much so that overclocked performance is often a fraction behind factory-overclocked cards from competitors.
