There's not much between all platforms bar the energy-efficient Athlon 5350.

The standard Pentium G3258 running at full chat consumes just 46W under load. We doubt that any platform from three years' ago would idle at that figure. Increasing both voltage and frequency adds another 18W to the load.

And the same is generally true when looking at 3D gaming performance.
