The popular HandBrake video-encoding test loves cores, threads and high frequencies. At base speeds the G3258 continues to mix it up with the best AMD APUs. Overclocked to 4.4GHz translates to Core i3-beating performance.
LuxMark doesn't show the same kinds of increases we've seen in other benchmarks. Remember that both the CPU and GPU portions are overclocked. The reason for this is due to the stunted graphics present on the G3258, which are half as potent as, say, the Core i3-4330's.
This one test favours AMD processors; even the Athlon 5350 is faster than the overclocked G3258.
