Benchmarks: System
PCMark is used to measure overall system performance, with the 'Home' test including workloads that reflect common tasks for a typical user. Making things interesting, we've graphed the data in two ways: actual score and score per watt. It's tough to get an idea of real-world performance from benchmark numbers, but let's put it this way: the Pentium and Athlon systems both felt surprisingly nippy during use. The Intel is the quicker of the two, but the AMD chip's lower TDP results in a higher score-per-watt.
SiSoft is another system-wide performance evaluation, and with GPU-specific tests taken into account, there's a small-but-noticeable benefit to running the Pentium with dual-channel memory.
There's something that the Athlon and Pentium chips have in common: both are equipped with a hamstrung IGP that offers little in terms of 3D performance.
