3DMark 2001SE, Comanche 4, SS2

Gaming begins with 3DMark 2001SE. A large dataset and a reliance on memory bandwidth should see it do well on the E.E.

Does it ever !. The Extreme Edition puts on no less than ~ 1,000 marks when directly compared to the non-E.E model. 3DMark's lobby tests showed an excellent increase in performance, with high lobby enjoying an 18% benchmarking gain over a standard 3.2GHz P4. The overclocked Extreme Edition, running at 3.6GHz, almost hits the 21,000 barrier with a Radeon 9800 Pro at default. Check out its score here. Impressive ORB power.

The Comanche 4 benchmarks is another cache-hungry test that revels in the extra on-chip storage available on the E.E. Roughly an extra 10% performance at the same clock speed.

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter shows a similar gain performance; just over 10%.
