Overclocking tests
First off, the CPU or motherboard absolutely detested increases in Vcore. Any increase in the CPU's voltage manifested itself in a failed POST, which was annoying. With that in mind, and attempting to keep a memory bandwidth high, the CPU was inched up to 210MHz (2310MHz) with DDR400 ECC dual-channel RAM running at DDR420 speeds.
Any higher and the RAM would start to fail. Knocking down the RAM to DDR333 speeds, whilst increasing the CPU overclock, detracted from overall performance. Lower bandwidth had a larger effect than a slightly faster core speed (2350MHz @ default voltage). Pifast, UT2003 retail game's custom bot match and 3DMark 2001SE were re-run to highlight the gains achieved by the overclocked CPU and memory.
The fastest got that little bit faster - it's as simple as that.
The 200FPS barrier will fall with a little more tweaking.
It's fast. It's very, very fast. A breakdown of the 20537 score can be found here
