Notes
We're comparing the Core i7-3770K against some of today's best-available alternatives. In our line-up we have the best Core i7 Sandy Bridge processor (2700K), the best Core i5 Sandy Bridge processor (2500K), two options from the enthusiast-class Sandy Bridge Extreme range (3960X and 3820), AMD's best FX Series processor (8150) and AMD's best A-Series processor (3870K).
It'll be interesting to see how the i7-3770K compares to i7-2700K in terms of CPU performance, and we'll be keeping a close eye on i7-3770K vs. A8-3870K to see if Intel's HD 4000 IGP is able to live up to the standards set by AMD's HD 6550D.
