A high-end Radeon HD 6950 card makes mincemeat of the Call of Duty: Black Ops gaming test, and it shows that there's little difference in performance when CPUs are switched around.
But some games rely on brute subsystem power at medium-quality settings. StarCraft II is a case in point; there's a huge difference between the best and worst CPUs here. Intel has a commanding lead, clearly.
