Power consumption, plus overclocking

Power consumption - idle (system)
AMD Athlon II X4 620 (2.6GHz, 2MB L2)Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 (2.33GHz, 4MB L2)
4847

Idle power-draw is very good for both camps.

Power consumption - load 2D (system)
AMD Athlon II X4 620 (2.6GHz, 2MB L2)Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 (2.33GHz, 4MB L2)
12198

Load is defined as running wPrime on all the CPU's cores. Both chips are rated with a 95W TDP, but, according to our research, the Intel Q8200 and G43 combination is around 20W better.

Overclocking

Keeping things simple, we increased frequency with all voltages kept at default. The 620 chip was cooled by a basic PIB heatsink and clocked up to 3.05GHz without issue.
