CPU Tests
Focussing on the Zen 3 CPU cores first, Ryzen 7 5700G puts in a commendable showing. Not as fast as the best 8C16T solutions from either AMD or Intel, mostly down to the restrained TDP, it's more than a match for the Core i9-9900K from a couple of generations back.
Actual testing reveals the sample chip maintains around 4.5GHz all-core load, but doing so requires the power to be jacked up from 65W to 80W or so. Just like the mobile chips on which this is based, the processor or GPU can pull extra watts when the application demands it the most.
Cooling isn't a problem with a decent heatsink; we never saw the chip hit 70°C when tested on a hot day.
