Overclocking Tests
Intel has made much of the extra frequency headroom enabled by the latest iteration of its 14nm process - more current, same power.
Raising up the voltage 1.15V and raising the all-core multiplier until the system could no longer complete at least 10 minutes of the intensive Blender test, we settled on a final, all-core 4.4GHz speed. Temperatures hovered around 90°C, mind.
Incidentally, that speed is 100MHz less than we achieved on the 7980XE.
The all-core performance scales nicely, yet the obvious problem Intel faces is that 32C64T AMD monster.
