Gaming Benchmarks II
Performance bunches up more in Middle-earth: Shadow of War, and you really can't tell the visual difference between the 2950X and 7900X.
Notice the consistent uptick over 1950X? That's a result of higher clock speeds and, going by further memory analysis, having quad-channel DDR4-2,933 active. Dropping to 2,133MHz, for example, decreases the 1080p average frame rate from 73.4fps to 64.1fps. Quite a difference.
If you're planning on gaming with Threadripper, ensure that you equip the system with fast memory, and you need to consider the 2950X instead of the 2990WX in its stunted out-of-the-box state.
