F1 performance is actually reasonable. Though not as fast as Intel at 1080p, getting a minimum 105fps means super-smooth gameplay.

You can throw a blanket over all but the 2990WX at 4K, however.

It took a recent patch for the 2990WX to even load Far Cry 5 in its 64-thread state. No such problems for 2950X.

That said, even though performance is perfectly adequate at 1080p, the Core i9-7900X is a whopping 38 per cent faster. Such a lead makes less of a difference at already-high frame rates but is worth pointing out in the interests of editorial fairness.
