PiFast and HandBrake
Running opportunistically at 4.5GHz means that Core i9-7980XE is near the top of the single-thread charts.
The more-core-aware HandBrake performance is not as good as we would have expected, but there are a couple of reasons for that.
First off, the chip keeps to a 3.4GHz frequency under load. Second, HandBrake doesn't scale that well past 10 cores; we know this by looking at how the CPU behaves in Task Manager.
An application has to be perfectly threaded for the 18-core monster to really show its worth, so segueing nicely, head on over to the next page.
