Performance

The Shadow Rock LP is the first small-form-factor cooler to be benchmarked on our Core i7-4770K test platform, and unsurprisingly, it isn't a match for the larger coolers in our line-up. Nevertheless, be quiet!'s low-profile solution remains a significant step up from an Intel reference cooler and has no trouble in taming our overclocked chip - sub-75ºC temps when running flat out are very healthy.

If you consider noise levels to be all important in a HTPC environment, you'll be pleased to learn that the Shadow Rock LP proved practically silent when our test platform was idle. You can't hear it over the chassis' other fans, and though noise levels do increase noticeably when all available CPU cores are put to work for prolonged periods, you wouldn't know the Pure Wings 2 fan was even spinning during everyday use.
