Benchmarks II
A selection of graphical benchmarks now, highlighting the performance increase you can achieve using phase change cooling. The Extreme Edition obliterates 3DMark 2001SE using an FX5900 Ultra. The card was clocked at stock (450/850) for all the graphical benchmarks, using 45.23 drivers. A 9800 Pro or 9800XT would be looking at the high side of 22,000 marks, without card clocking, on the 3.825GHz Extreme Edition. That was my personal 3DMark 2001SE best broken, without even overclocking the card.
A custom Aquamark 3 test now, 800x600 with low detail and no AA, just to give the CPU all the work to do without card bottlenecks. 11.5% isn't bad, given that the graphics card is involved too.
Our in-house 800x600 low detail CPU test, using a botmatch demo. 13% now, from a 20% CPU clock increase. Excellent performance all round from the Extreme Edition processor with the VapoChill XE making it all happen.
Serious Sam 2 640x480 Custom OpenGL
Quake3 v1.30 Four Demo (nearly 600fps @ 1024x768!)
Let's have a stab at a conclusion.
