The right side also features a simple lock, the keys for which ship out of the factory attached to the rear of the chassis.
Further down the right side of the case are the front exterior ports. We don't particularly like to have these round the side, as they are on the PC-A12, and are even less enamoured of having them right down the bottom, too.
The usual suspects are there, though, with a single six-pin FireWire port, plus two for USB 2.0 and mic and headphone sockets. Considering that the apertures are cut out of the aluminium that makes up the front of the case, the finish is impressive, even down to the small black screws used to hold the socket assembly in place.
Behind the door are six externally-accessible drive bays - two 3.5in and four 5.25in. There are accompanied by a large power button and a smaller reset button.
The front-mounted 120mm fan sits behind the perforations at the bottom of the front. That consists of a single piece of aluminium and, once again, the finish is exceptionally good.
In the bottom left are the red and black wires that bring power to the LEDs in the door. Of course, if you don't want the glow you won't be plugging in the Molex connector within the case.
Flipping the PC-A12 on its side reveals fairly standard black rubber feet - there's one in each corner, naturally - plus a vent directly below the front-mounted 120mm fan.
