Those features were taken from Google's page describing this new service, which we understand is expected to be made available for free. On that same page you can access a bunch of short videos demonstrating the above features like this one.

We'd like to know what you think; most commentators seem to think this is the best thing since sliced bread. Right now only GrandCentral users and a select few others are able to use Google Voice but it's expected to be made more widely available soon. If you've managed to have a play with it or just have some initial thoughts, we'd like to hear them in the HEXUS.community discussion forums.

“Listen in - Listen before taking a call”

Eh? How's that work then?

:O_o1:
I'm guessing it means if someone is calling you and can hear that it's ringing, when they innocently shout out that they're calling <insert offensive term here> you can hear what they're saying about you. Probably.

Sounds like an excellent feature.
It's just a call screening thing like you might use on your answerphone at home. You can chose to put an incoming call onto voicemail and then listen in while it's being recorded and pick up the call if you want.
