Cooler Master has added a brace of RGB lit, Cherry MX keyswitch packing, mechanical keyboards to its available range. The Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L and Pro S are full sized and tenkeyless keyboards respectively. This new pair of input devices are said to meld minimalistic design with brilliant RGB illumination when you want/need it.
Peripherals Product Manager at Cooler Master, Kevin Yang, said of the new keyboards; "The MasterKeys Pro offers multiple lighting modes. Presets include Colour Wave, Breathing, and other responsive effects. You can choose between red, brown, or blue switches to match your tactile preference". Regardless of whether you opt for the full sized or compact tenkeyless keyboard "you get all the features," confirmed Yang. He added that Cooler Master is currently developing an SDK to take customising your keyboard even further than the currently supplied software does.
Cooler Master seems particularly proud of the brightness of the LEDs that it has equipped in the MasterKeys Pro range. The firm claims to have "completely redesigned the interior of the MasterKeys to fit both Cherry MX switches, and bigger, brighter LEDs that can radiate 16.7 million colours."
In terms of desirable added features, that may appeal to gamers, the Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro keyboards support on-the-fly macros, profile support, and easy-to-use software. A minimalistically designed mechanical keyboard, and a tenkeyless option, with the ability to light up with bright RGB configurable lighting, plus added gaming features, may appeal to many PC users.
Cooler Master told HEXUS in an email to expect the MasterKeys Pro L to be available immediately priced at £109.99. The MasterKeys Pro S will arrive a little later, at the "End of March, beginning of April", priced at £89.99. Initially you will only be able to purchase these UK layout keyboard SKUs equipped with Cherry MX Brown keyswitches. At the time of writing the product pages for the Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L and Pro S keyboards hadn't gone live.
