We're pretty fond of Gyration's Media Center Remote, but if you've just got to have a QWERTY keyboard, take a look at this HTPC solution from Sandberg.

The unimaginatively titled Wireless Touchpad Keyboard, pictured below, provides a keyboard-and-touchpad combo to suit the HTPC user. It provides a range of 10 metres, and there's a row of shortcut keys for various Windows applications as well as a big ol' Windows Vista Media Center key at the bottom.

The built-in touchpad allows you to stay seated without a mouse and offers left and right mouse-click buttons, as well as touch-scrolling. At £49.99, it could be a useful little addition to a home theatre setup. Unfortunately, due to its size, we'd still lean toward a Media Center remote.

Sandberg lists the keyboard's official specification as follows:

  • 14 hot keys
  • LED indicators for Fn Lock, Num Lock, Caps Lock and Low Battery
  • Touchpad with scroll function
  • Left and right mouse click buttons
  • USB Receiver
  • Power Consumption: <20mA
  • Transmission Distance: Up to 10 metres
  • Weight: 540 g
  • Dimensions: 422 x 180 x 19 mm
  • Operation Frequency: 2.4 GHz RF
  • Requires 2 x AA Batteries (included)

I prefer my keysonic wireless laptop-style keyboard in all honesty

Cheaper too.
I like the wireless keyboards BTC make as I find the joystick makes a really good substitute for the mouse - I've been using their 9019URF for a couple of years. It's now been superceded by this :
