SiS Chipsets

SiS's 755FX chipset for Athlon 64 is the only AMD chipset from SiS to get an update for Q2. 756 adds PCI Express 16x as a graphics card connection option, with everything else being equal with 755FX.

It goes into mass production in June and it's sampling now, so it might not see a retail board release in Q2, but the chipset should definitely ship to board makers in June.

SiS's 655FX chipset for Intel's Pentium 4 processors gets the PCI Express 16x treatment too, with the update named 656. It's supports LGA775, DDR-II memory on the memory controllers, bringing the chipset in line with Intel's offerings.

Summary

It's a quiet Q2 for SiS, if current roadmaps are to be believed. PCI Express 16x gets added to their AMD64 and P4 core logic, but depending when the chipsets stop sampling and get shipped to board makers, it could (and probably will) be Q3 before boards hit retail.
